Ashley County, Arkansas
Genealogy and Historical Tidbits...

“For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations." Psalm 100:5 (NIV).

This site is an attempt to consolidate my ongoing research into my Ashley County roots, which go back seven generations to among the first to settle the region. I've accumulated a significant amount of information which I hope others will find useful and helpful in discovering their roots. Hundreds of photographs and historical documents may be found here, as well as family history information on thousands of people.

To go directly to the complete database, see the Genealogy Database. For specific families and their descendants, see the Early Ashley County Families section.

There are particular geographic areas of the county that are emphasized. Foremost is the former Berea community in the northeast part of the county, and continuing north through Line and into southeastern Drew County. There is also some emphasis on the Rawls area in the far south central part of Ashley County.

If you have contributions or corrections, I'd like to hear from you. Note that information on living people posted to this site is limited to names only. Finally, unless otherwise noted, all information provided through this site is available for use as you please, provided that it's not for profit and that you reference this source.

I hope you'll find this site a useful and enjoyable tool to help discover the past!
